Pediatric dermatology
Pediatric skin conditions
Children's skin is different from adults', and so is how we treat it. We care for patients of every age and tailor treatment to the youngest skin in the room.
What it is.
Common pediatric concerns include atopic dermatitis (eczema), molluscum contagiosum, warts, acne, birthmarks, and common viral rashes. Most are benign and self-limited, but a few require prompt evaluation.
How we treat it.
We choose the lowest-risk treatment that gets the job done. For molluscum and warts, that often means painless in-office options first. For eczema, it's a foundation of moisturizers and bland cleansing with prescription anti-inflammatories reserved for flares.
When to come in.
If your child has persistent itching, rapidly spreading rash, a changing birthmark, or a skin issue that's affecting sleep or school, an evaluation is worthwhile.
