Warts
Warts are caused by the human papillomavirus (HPV) and can be persistent, especially on the hands and feet. We use a combination of in-office and at-home treatments to clear them.
What it is.
Common warts appear on the hands and fingers; plantar warts on the soles can be painful; flat warts often spread on the face and shins.
How we treat it.
First-line treatments include cryotherapy, salicylic acid, and topical immunomodulators. Resistant warts may benefit from cantharidin, intralesional injections, or laser referral. Multiple sessions are usually needed.
When to come in.
If warts are painful, spreading, on the face, or haven't cleared with over-the-counter treatment, professional care speeds things up considerably.
